Rites of Spring

This multi-media project reworks an early Modernist example of the vegetal other as a media performance that seeks to project beyond the human and address both the rite and rights of Spring itself. This Generator Fund Kinetic Grant will target operational costs such as tech purchases and custom fabrication.
“I think there are a lot of key accomplishments in the sense that a research-based art practice is always ongoing, and any ability to clear one hurdle, even if that is a reworking of route, takes you into new, rewarding and even unexpected places. I guess this is the process of art-making in general. None of this would have been feasible without the grant-funding.”
